Community Healing

Because Collective Healing & Liberation Happens Together

It takes a Village.

Community Healing Rituals are essential for our path of individual, relational, and collective healing. They are also key in our process of re-indigenizing ourselves in the West. Please join us and be a part of helping us weave Collective Liberation!

Painting Portals —Painting the Parts (4/1 - 4/29)

Shamanic Art and Sound Journey

Painting Portals is equal parts community connection and care, somatic therapy, earth-based ritual, quantum sound journey, and shamanic art therapy. This container supports participants in deepening into their healing journey through feeling, expressing, and unlocking their creativity. By deepening into the body through sacred space, mediation, and creation, participants can by pass the thinking mind and access deeper parts of their psyche. In this way, participants gain insights and clarity on patterns and blocks, while also being able to actively shift and release energetically and somatically.

In the “Painting the Parts” series of Painting Portals, over a course of 5 weeks, Alicia Sunflower will guide participants through a series of journeys to connect to different internal parts. Participants will have the opportunity to strengthen their connection to source within, and explore and relate with their internal parts such as the wise woman/man, the inner child, the critic/gatekeeper, the victim/perpetrator, and their higher self. Additionally, through this series, participants will also actively be connecting with Internal Source and weaving this supportive energy throughout each session.

Community Grief Ritual (5/2 — 5/3)

Dagara-Inspired Grief Tending through Experiential Learning and Earth-Based Ritual

This powerful indigenous earth-based ritual is one of true redemption and healing. Based in elemental wisdom, and the magic of the village, this Grief Ritual was gifted to the West by the Dagara people of West Africa via Sobonfu Somé, an African Spirituality teacher from Burkina Faso. Alicia Sunflower and Greg Henderson (co-facilitators of this ritual) have been initiated into this lineage by our teacher Maria Christina Owl.

This two day immersive healing weekend is a powerful opportunity to tend to our individual and collective griefs together. Saturday will be focused on more feminine grief tending through experiential learning about Grief from the Dagara perspective, as well as he Gates of Grief by Francis Weller, practices to deepen our connectivity as a Village, and a special Painting Portals: Shamanic Art and Sound Therapy session to help us discover more of the gifts in our griefs. On Sunday we will move into our more masculine transmutation of grief through a Dagara-Inspired Community Grief Ritual, and conclude our weekend with an Integration and a Community Potluck.

Saturday 5/2 - Sunday 5/3 | Tired Suggested Donations from $40-$155 | Kanaka Maoli & BIPOC Welcome for Free | Sunshine Sacred Sanctuary

Community Gratitude Ritual (5/30 - 5/31)

Dagara Inspired Earth Based Ritual

This indigenous earth-based gratitude ritual is a ritual of renewal! It is one that helps us heal grief and stuck energy through the transformational practice of gratitude. Based in elemental wisdom, and the magic of the village, this Gratitude Ritual was gifted to the West by the Dagara people of West Africa via Sobonfu Somé, an African Spirituality teacher from Burkina Faso. Alicia Sunflower and Greg Henderson (co-facilitators of this ritual) have been initiated into this lineage by our teacher Maria Christina Owl.

This two day immersive healing weekend is a powerful opportunity to explore the transformative power of gratitude and its immense healing potentials as a tool of shadow work. Saturday will be focused on activating the Heart and Spirit through gratitude, multicultural teachings on gratitude as shadow work, practices to deepen our connectivity as a Village, and a special Painting Portals: Shamanic Art and Sound Therapy session to help us create our clay totems for our ritual the next day. On Sunday we will continue to open our hearts to gratitude as we move into more connection, creativity and our Dagara-Inspired Community Gratitude Ritual, and conclude our weekend with an Integration Potluck and Ecstatic Dance!

“Emergent Earth Based Spirituality and Culture allows us to honor the old and channel the new. It allows us to reclaim the indigenous ways of our ancestors ways while also empowering us to honor our own connection to Source, the Earth, the Elements, Nature, and our Bodies as valid and valuable paths for indigenous reclamation, in the hear and now. ”
